Slumber Party Girls is a 16-book novel series created and written by Maryam Wells. The series, which began in 2019, is about five teenage girls selected a new girl group from Smash Records after their stint on a singing competition tv series.


Synopsis[]

In each episode of the series, aspiring singers, Leslie Porter, Christian Davis, Brittany Johnson, Linda Montez, and Sarah McGinnis take the risk of leaving their normal lives behind to audition for the new TV special, The Next Girl Group, a singing competition series where young aspiring female singers/dancers competed in order to claim their spots to make it into the next girl group. All five girls make it to the competition. After Leslie, Christian, Brittany, Linda, and Sarah won their place in the new pop girl group, the Slumber Party Girls, their lives have changed, and they must navigate the world as America's popular teen girl band.


Characters[]

  • Leslie Porter - A 16-year-old African-American girl from Los Angeles, California. Her parents don't think she is a talented singer because her voice isn't like Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, and Toni Braxton (soulful singers), which makes Leslie feels insecure with her singing voice. When The Next Girl Group was holding auditions at her school, Leslie tried out and make it to the competition, to her parents' dismay. She has a deal with her parents, if she is eliminated from the competition, she returns to her normal life. Leslie's life changes when she makes it to the girl group.
  • Christian Davis - A 16-year-old girl from Dever, Colorado. She is the daughter of respected surgeon. Her mother is deceased. She defies her father's wishes to pursue her dreams to make it as a singer. When she heard about The Next Girl Group auditions, Christian jumped at the chance and makes it to the competition. She befriends Leslie during the competition. She makes it to the group and must deal with being the pretty girl of the band.
  • Brittany Johnson - A 16-year-old blue-green eyed blonde from Dallas, Texas. Despite her tomboyish persona, she is a talented singer. With support from her family, she auditions for The Next Girl Group at her school and makes it. After making it to the band, Brittany tries to resists the temptations of the life as a member of the pop group..
  • Linda Montez - A 15-year-old Mexican-American girl from Tucson, Arizona. Like Leslie and Christian, Linda's father doesn't approve of his daughter's aspirations to enter the music industry. He prefers she pursue a different path. Linda ignores her father and auditions for a spot on The Next Girl Group. After making it to the band, Linda has a fallout with her father and pursues her dreams, but now she must deal with paying the price of choosing pop star life over her father.
  • Sadie McDonald - A 15-year-old Irish-American girl from Chicago, Illinois. Her family is much supportive of her dreams of pursuing a career in singing. After auditioning for a spot on The Next Girl Group and making it to the competition, she performing well enough to make to the band.



Episodes[]

  • The Next Girl Group - Five teenage girls (from very different lives and backgrounds) audition for spots on a new televised singing competition in L.A. Leslie, Christian, and Linda risk disappointing their fathers by pursuing their passion for singing.
  • -- After they were selected to become the new girl group, the Slumber Party Girls on live television, Leslie, Christian, Brittany, Linda, and Sadie move in the Hollywood Vista Apartments and spent the days learning the nuts and the bolts of being a girl band. However, Linda's father enters the scene and demands that Linda leave the band and return home. Leslie struggles with insecurities about her body and her singing. Meanwhile, the record label CEO gives producer -- only three days to turn the girls, into a successful band. Only Leslie, Christian, and Linda struggle because they feel they have betrayed their fathers and quit. However, Brittany and Sadie tell their bandmates that they chose to defy their fathers to pursue their dreams and they can only back out of this if their hearts are not in it. With Leslie, Christian, and Linda back on board they then go back, work hard, and please CEO Griffin with a performance of their new single "Slumber Party". Griffin gives them three months to produce a demo CD. The journey begins...
